The competition started a 10am, the first competitor was a girl from Sydney university. As her performance started, the noisy atmosphere cooled to a silence as everyone started to listen to the first performance of the morning. Her song lasted for around five minutes, after completion, as she stepped out, a wave of applause from everyone in the lobby stopped her, her only comment was because it was so early in the morning her preparations could have been better.

A large number of musical instrumental talents was also displayed, from guitar to accordion, and event Chinese traditional musical instruments. A visiting group of foreign international officers from other universities was quite stunned by the amount of talent they saw. Overall comments showed that from organizers to competitors, all were happy with the way the event turned out.
Because of the large amount of competitors, the actual competition lasted for a whole day, and only managed to finish at 6pm in the evening. A large amount of effort was put into it by judges and volunteers on the day. The amount of physical work that was put into it was also without question, in fact on of the main organizers ‘Chen Feng’ almost collapse from exhaustion at the end. A quote from one of the judges on the day, “although we are extremely tired, but when we see these young people and their good performances, we feel extremely proud, and we once again believe that musical talent can also be found away from China”.
