Description: Throughout the ages, Tibet has been renowned worldwide as a ‘land of mystery’. Its icy peaks and snowy mountains have constantly beckoned to adventurers. Today, as China opens its arms to welcome friends from all over the world, Tibet too show off its progress, exhibiting magnificent scenery and the character of the Tibetan people to the entire world. As a celebration of Chinese Tibetan culture, the Australian Chinese Performing Artists’ Association is pleased to present a series of Tibetan cultural performances at Sydney’s Seymour Centre over the period 27th – 30th November, 2001.
We welcome you to visit Tibet through our performances, and promise you will leave with an everlasting memory. Capturing the spirit of this ancient land in just one night would be impossible. As a result the visiting Tibetan troupes and the presenter (ACPAA) agreed that such an exciting selection of performances should be presented over several nights. Hence, China Tibetan Culture Week was born. Reviews: During the course of China Tibetan Culture Week, a range of cultural productions were presented in conjunction with a professionally produced film introducing the region.
