Description: As a Chinese poem goes, “Those who are away from home will miss their families the mist in festivals”. This can be a best illustration for people always choosing holiday time for their meetings and reunions.
June 10th of 2006, China celebrated first ever “Cultural Heritage Day”, whose theme us to protect cultural heritage and safeguard spiritual home. That day came as China’s Cultural Ministry unveiled the first list of 518 national intangible cultural heritages under protection, including Spring Festival, Ching Ming Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and other Chinese traditional festivals. Chinese traditional festivals witness the profound Chinese history and carry the body of Chinese culture. They also represent, while containing the distinctive values, ideology, imagination and culture of Chinese people, the vitality and creativity of our great nationality. Protecting and making good use of intangible cultural heritages is of great significance to carrying forward our splendid cultural tradition, enhancing national solidity and safeguarding state unity, boosting self-confidence and cohesion.
Celebrating Chinese New Year will be a flag, leading all the Chinese around the world to joint hands at this traditional festival.
2007 Celebrating Chinese New Year will be a poem, through the means of culture and arts, to carry forward the outstanding national elements in values, ideology, imagination and civilization from generations to generations.
2007 Celebrating Chinese New Year will also be a cultural brand, which can connect us with friends all around the world. Let all the Chinese people enjoy this great moment and work together to build an even better world!
