ACPAA won the first prize of “2009 Chinese New Year Parade” Award
The ACPAA has participated in the annual Sydney Chinese New Year Parade since 2007, with an average of eight sub groups participating each year. The ACPAA was honoured in receiving the Parade Winner’s Trophy in 2008, and again in 2009 with its participation in the Twilight Parade. Won first prize in the “2009 Chinese New Year Parade” This year we are striving to make our parade entries Beautiful, colorful and brighter than ever. Some of our ideas so far include the organisation and management of several floats, which we plan to decorate with colourful lighting. One of our parade entries will incorporate the theme- “harmony“.
All entries will also include dancers wearing costumes and, in some cases, holding props complementing the theme of the float. Furthurmore, by organising these entires we were provided as many opportunities as possible. Throughout the years, our performers have ranged from all backgrounds and ages, from local students to foreign performers from less advantaged cities, all of whom enjoyed the experience greatly. From this we hope to provide a stage and starting line for many striving performers both young and old, no matter their background.
