2014 Sydney International Campus Arts Festival
Jointly hosted by the ACPAA and the China Council for the Promotion of Intangible Cultural Heritage, the 2014 Sydney International Campus Arts Festival was held at the Concourse Theatre on the 16th of August 2014 to great success.
The Campus Arts Festival is an annual event that aims to promote multiculturalism through the actions of performing traditional dances at the festival. The night was trilled away with performances from several ethic backgrounds such as; Chinese, Irish, Spanish and Korean. These performances were also accompanied by modern dances such as ballet and contemporary.
Stars of the evening included dancers from the Sydney Jing Dance School, Lucy Dance School, Pymble Ladies College, Southern Star Dance School, Korean Dance Group, Jiangmen Children’s Ballet, Scoil Rince Creer Irish, Shanshan Dance School, Aziguili Dance School and Daiailian Culture Art Center. With the abundance of dance schools from many ethnic nationalities, there was certainly no shortage of talent. The Festival brought together Enthusiastic and talented young artist from many different regions in China and Australia alike, Symbolizing the ever-strengthening Sino-Australian relationship.
With skills and techniques passed down through generations, the evening was a blast to say the least. With a warm applaud from the audience; it is safe to say that the evening was a tremendous success.
