2015 Inaugural Haxing Arts Festival
Huaxing Arts Festival is hosted by Huaxing Arts Group Australia, supported by Nanhai Culture Media Group and Australian Chinese Performing Artists’ Association. Festival was hold on 22 Nov 2015 at the Concourse Theater Chatswood,
The purpose of this event is to celebration of the first anniversary of the establishment of the Huaxing Arts Group. To the showcase of the hard work and efforts of the various performance groups involved, to hopefully introduce pieces to mainstream audiences, and, for a lucky few, to be selected to perform in ‘Cultures of China – Festival of Spring’.
We not be possible without the support of both the Consulate General of the PRC in Sydney, and the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office. To quote President Qui, Huaxing Arts Groups Australia displays tremendous potential in establishing a multicultural performing arts base here in Sydney through its incorporation of Chinese culture with local arts resources.
The event was also attended by numerous VIP, Gail Giles-Gidney -The Mayor of the City of Willoughby, Brian Robson - Mayor of the City of Canterbury, Jimmy Bai - Office of the Hon. Tony Burke, Member for Watson, Helen Dickenson Panas - Deputy Mayor of Hurstville City Council, Virginia Ferris - City of Sydney Chinese New Year Parade Director, Claudia Chan- City of Sydney Festival Curator of Chinese New Year, Nicole Gaff - event Manager for Parramatta Council, Lauren Doughty- CCP Administrator for Chippendale Creative
The showcase started at 6pm, with the introduction of the Huaxing Arts group by three MC’s. Following this was a ribbon cutting ceremony, performed by the Majors or representatives who attended the evening. Through the combined talents of our performers, the future of Huaxing Arts Group aims to further celebrate and enrich Australia’s multicultural canvas.
