2018 Sydney Huaxing Arts Festival
10 Nov 2018
HUAXING ARTS FESTIVAL Proudly supported by Nanhai Culture & Media Group and the Australian Chinese Performing Artists’ Association, Presented by Huaxing Arts Group Australia was held at Sydney Town Hall on 10th of Nov 2018. Well, it’s true that four years is indeed a short period of time. Nevertheless, since its inception, Huaxing Arts Group Australia has tirelessly adhered to the principles of inclusivity, enterprise, and innovation. True to its goal of supporting the overseas Chinese community and local artists. Under the care of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Sydney, and with the support of local businesses, media outlets, and the overseas Chinese community at large.
Huaxing Arts Festival remains a strong and dedicated cultural event – with countless outstanding local works from the past four years to prove it. From this platform, many other spectacular events have taken flight – including the annual ‘Cultures of China – Festival of Spring’ Festival, as well as the popular Chinese New Year Lantern Festival. with segments spanning many eras. From Peking opera, to pop songs, to traditional dances, we sure are in for a treat.
I believe that everyone can empathise with this feeling. Come with me now – and imagine. You have left your childhood home; your friends and family. The longer the time apart, the deeper you feel this pang of nostalgic memory. This is a feeling all too familiar for members of the overseas Chinese community. And,
This is exactly why Huaxing Arts Group Australia exists – to bring together a community of talented individuals who are not only enthusiastic, but dedicated, to the cultivation of traditional arts; and the promotion of exchange and understanding between Australia and the People’s Republic of China.
We’ve witnessed an abundance of colourful events and performances put on by Huaxing Arts Group Australia over the years. These have not only enriched and diversified the local community, but have also truly paved a way for Australia’s growing multicultural arts scene.
Over the years, we’ve seen local artists use art and creativity to bridge an exchange between Australia and China. They have certainly helped Chinese culture find a home on Australia’s vibrant multicultural canvas.
