Lantern Festival
Organised by Australia China Economics, Trade & Culture Association (ACETCA) and presented by Nanhai Culture & Media (Australia) Pty Ltd, Presenter by Australian Chinese Performing Artists Association the 2nd Chinese New Year Lantern Festival was launched at Darling Harbour on 12th February 2017. Prime Minister of Australia, the Hon. Malcolm Turnbull MP and Leader of Opposition, the Hon. Bill Shorten MP attended the Opening Ceremony.
During this two-day event, 20 performing groups from Huaxing Arts Group Australia participated in the Lantern festival. In the night time, art troupes from Anhui Province performed at the stage to bring about the climax of the event.

The Lantern Festival is China's most important festival, it is the first full moon night in the Chinese calendar, marking the return of spring and symbolizing the reunion of family. However, most people cannot celebrate it with their families, because there is no public holiday for this festival. and all New Year decorations are taken down.
During the daytime, the stage showed local performers with more than 400 dancers, singers and musicians direct from Australian Chinese Performing Artists Association Australia.
